Shikshaware Notes: the records behind a school day
Welcome to the first issue of Shikshaware Notes. This company-authored newsletter brings together practical questions for the school office, accounts desk and academic team. Our starting point is simple: a useful record should help the next person understand what happened.
At the fee counter: close the loop
A receipt, a payment message and an outstanding balance describe different parts of the collection process. Before closing the day, choose a reporting period, review recorded collections and keep a specific list of unresolved payment references.
This issue's fee reconciliation article explains why a payment screenshot needs verification and why collection and dues totals should be reviewed separately.
For the exam team: name the calculation
When an existing exam contributes marks to a CBSE component, make the percentage rule explicit. In the supported Shikshaware population workflow, 80 source marks at 10% contributes 8 marks. Review the source exam, destination column, absent students and limits before saving.
The report-card review guide also covers exam/session selection and a small print sample before issuing a whole batch.
At the gate: finish the visit record
A QR scan helps find a pass; staff still need to check its current status and the person's identity. Record the actual exit as well as the entry, and investigate visits still shown as open.
The visitor checklist explains the distinction between visitor approval and student departure, and how contact details and IST movement times help an authorized review.
One useful conversation to have this week
Ask each team which exception takes the longest to understand: a pending payment, an absent student, a marks correction or an incomplete visit. Use one example to review the full workflow together, including who can act and what evidence the next person needs.
